On occasion, a tooth may be lost; dental implants are a way of filling these gaps, giving back teeth to chew with, and also restoring aesthetics.
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is placed in the jawbone. Bone grows around this screw, locking it in solidly. A porcelain crown is attached to the implant resulting in a new, functioning "tooth" which looks just like a real one!
